🥃 December Guys' Day Out

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2026 · ~20–25 PEOPLE · SOUTH FLORIDA

Every option researched so far, in one place — what each thing actually is, how it works, what it costs per person, and what still needs a phone call to lock down. Nothing is booked yet.

How to use this page

There are two routes: the ~$100/person route and the $100–200/person route, in case the group decides to pay up for a bigger night. Tap 👍 Vote on anything you'd actually show up for — then use the copy button at the bottom to paste your picks into the group chat. Prices were checked Oct 21, 2026; group rates marked "by inquiry" need one call to confirm for Dec 12.

💲 Route 1 — Around $100 a person

The original budget. Everything here fits ~$100pp (clays stretch it a bit — see the note on that card).

🏇 1. Day at the Races — Gulfstream Park (Ten Palms)

Hallandale Beach · ~40 min · Afternoon · Racing CONFIRMED for Sat Dec 12
~$64pp all-in + betting money20–25 = standard group bookingOne call to lock the group table

A proper day at the track during Gulfstream's Championship Meet — and Dec 12 is a stakes day, with the $125,000 Tropical Park Derby and Tropical Park Oaks on the card. The group sits at trackside tables in the Ten Palms restaurant: full menu and bar service at your seats, finish-line views, and you can walk down to the paddock between races to see the horses up close.

📖 RACE DAY 101 — HOW IT WORKS

  • The card: A race day is ~9–11 races, one every ~30 minutes. First post is usually early afternoon; the last race wraps around 5:30 PM. You don't watch continuously — the rhythm is: check the program, pick your horse, bet, watch 2 minutes of chaos, cash or tear up the ticket, repeat.
  • The program: A few dollars at the door. Each race lists the horses with post position (the number on the saddle cloth — that's the number you bet), jockey, trainer, past results, and the morning-line odds. Beginners do fine betting names, colors, or the favorite.
  • The paddock: Before each race the horses are walked in the paddock behind the grandstand. Free to watch, and half the fun — a calm, shiny horse is a good sign; a sweating, agitated one isn't.

🎟️ BETTING 101 — THE ONLY FIVE BETS YOU NEED

  • Win — your horse must finish 1st. Place — 1st or 2nd. Show — 1st, 2nd or 3rd (smallest payout, easiest to cash).
  • Minimum bet is $2. A fun bankroll for the whole day is $40–60 — it buys you a bet in every race without real pain.
  • Exacta box — pick 2 horses to finish 1st–2nd in either order. A $1 exacta box on two horses costs $2 and is the classic group bet.
  • How to say it at the window: "Race 5, $2 to win on the 4." That's it. There are also self-serve machines and an app if you prefer not to queue.
  • Group move: run a pool — everyone throws in $20, the group bets one horse per race by vote, winnings split (or rolled into the bar tab).

🕐 HOW THE DAY FLOWS

Arrive ~12:30–1 PM, settle at the tables, order lunch. Races run all afternoon in the background of eating and drinking — Ten Palms serves Fri–Sun 11:30 AM–5:30 PM and is built for exactly this. Between races: paddock walks, betting windows, bar. Done by ~5:30 PM — early enough for a second act (dinner or drinks) afterward.

Food & drink: Ten Palms is a full sit-down restaurant (steaks, seafood, raw bar) plus a full bar, all served at your trackside table. The $50pp is a food-and-beverage minimum, not a ticket price — you'll spend it on lunch and drinks anyway.

💵 The math: $50pp minimum + ~7% tax + 20% tip ≈ $64pp all-in. Betting money is separate and self-paced ($40–60 suggested). A private suite/terrace package exists but is priced by inquiry.

🏎️ 2. Karting Grand Prix — Xtreme Action Park

5300 Powerline Rd, Fort Lauderdale · ~35 min · Open Sat until 1 AM
$62pp published · ~$80–90 all-inBuilt for groupsConfirm Saturday group packages by phone

A private Grand Prix on Florida's largest indoor asphalt track — gas karts that hit up to 45 mph. This isn't open-lapping with strangers: the group gets its own race format, qualifying, and a championship race, with trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The venue also has a full bar (the Pit Bar), food, laser tag, bowling, a ropes course and an arcade — the package bundles extra activities in.

🕐 HOW IT FLOWS

Check in and get geared up (helmet provided), safety briefing, then a practice/qualifying session to set the grid. The Grand Prix race runs with the whole group on track together. Podium ceremony with trophies, then the group drifts to the bar, arcade and the bundled activities. Figure ~2–3 hours door to door.

💵 The math (published rate card): Grand Prix is $620 for the first 10 + $62 per additional guest — so $62pp at any size. Add the Championship Lap Race for +$260 flat (~$10–13pp). With 8.05% tax + 20% service charge: ~$80pp, ~$90pp with the trophy race.

Food & drink: Full bar and food on site; group catering packages available.

📞 954-491-6265 · xtremeactionpark.com/corporate-teambuilding-events — note: some small-group packages are marked Mon–Fri only, so the Saturday format needs confirming on the call.

🔥 3. Private Glassblowing Party — Hollywood Hot Glass

1 Young Cir, Hollywood · ~20 min · Evening (Thu–Sat hours 1–9 PM)
Best budget fit — clearly under $100ppGroups up to 100Everyone takes a piece home

A working glass studio taken over for the group. Instructors work with molten glass at a 2,000°+ furnace; each person designs and helps make their own piece — a tumbler, ornament, or paperweight — choosing colors and shaping it with the tools while the group watches, drinks, and heckles productively.

📖 HOW IT WORKS

  • Pieces have to cool slowly overnight in an annealer, so you don't take yours home that night — pickup (or shipping) is arranged after. Worth knowing so nobody's surprised.
  • No experience needed and it's genuinely hands-on — you gather the glass, add color, and shape it with an instructor at your shoulder.
  • It's a spectator sport between turns: with 20–25 people you rotate through while the rest socialize.
💵 The math: Private groups run on the standard per-person Workshop rates plus a group fee — $50 for a standard group booking; large groups outside normal hours carry a $250 private reservation fee plus the cost of pieces made. Either way it lands clearly inside $100pp — the only option that does so with room to spare. Which fee applies to a Dec 12 Saturday is the one question for the inquiry.

🕹️ 4. Retro Arcade Night — Silverball, Delray Beach

19 NE 3rd Ave, Delray Beach · ~15 min (closest option) · Open Sat until 1 AM
Pricing by inquiry — walk-in all-day pass is only $25Confirm post-renovation reopening for Dec 12

A museum you play: 150+ vintage pinball machines, classic arcade cabinets, and original Coney Island Skee-Ball lanes — everything on free play, no tokens, no quarters. Private events get the upstairs bar area. The natural format for this group: a seeded pinball + Skee-Ball tournament bracket running all night while people eat, drink, and wander.

🕐 HOW IT FLOWS

No schedule, no turns — show up, grab a drink, play anything. A loose tournament bracket (we'd print one) gives the night a spine: Skee-Ball qualifying, pinball knockouts, a final on one machine with everyone watching. They host holiday parties every December, so a group of 25 is routine for them.

💵 The math: Private-event pricing isn't published. Anchors from their walk-in rates: all-day pass $25, half-day $17.50. Even a generous private package with food and drink should land well under $100pp (estimate).

Food & drink: Full kitchen and multiple bars on site.

📞 (561) 266-3294 · Event request form — private bookings were paused for renovations; their form says they're accepting reservations for after November 2026, which covers Dec 12, but confirm the space is finished.

🍸 5. Mixology Competition — Cocktail Uncultured

1109 NE 34th Ct, Oakland Park · ~30 min — or they travel to a home/clubhouse in Boca
$75pp ALL-IN (published, incl. tax & tip)~24 max in-house · offsite has no cap

A master mixologist runs a hands-on class: everyone builds and drinks 3 real cocktails over 1.5–2 hours, with all ingredients and barware provided. In private format it's easy to run as a judged competition — best drink, best name, worst garnish — which is the version this group should do.

🕐 HOW IT FLOWS

Welcome drink and the basics (balance, dilution, why you stir vs shake). Round by round, everyone makes each cocktail alongside the instructor — then the competition round, where teams riff on a base recipe and the mixologist judges. You drink everything you make, so pace is built in.

💵 The math (published catalog): $75/person for a private class, and their FAQ states it includes ingredients, barware, bartender, tax and gratuity — $75pp flat, $1,500–1,875 total for 20–25. The catalog is ~1.5 years old, so confirm the rate holds.

Capacity note: The classroom holds 18 comfortably, ~24 max — 25 is over the comfortable limit in-house. The offsite version (they come to you) removes the cap entirely and is probably the right format.

🏹 6. Night Bowfishing + Frog Gigging — Florida Adventure Outfitters

Everglades ( Broward/Palm Beach access points ) · Night trip
~$92–144pp4–5 boats for the groupNothing like rod fishing

The wildest option on either list. Airboats head into the Everglades after dark with high-powered lights that illuminate the water. Standing on the bow with a bowfishing rig, you shoot at invasive fish (tilapia, gar, bowfin) lit up in the shallows — then switch to gigging frogs, Everglades-style. It's hunting, not fishing, and it doesn't resemble anything this group does on its own boats.

📖 HOW IT WORKS

  • Bowfishing bows are simple recurve/compound setups with a reel and barbed arrow — the guide teaches it in minutes. You aim below the fish (refraction bends the light) — everyone misses the first few.
  • Targets are mostly invasive species, so there's no guilt and usually plenty of action.
  • December nights in the Glades are cool and mostly bug-free by Florida standards — prime season for this.
💵 The math: ~$575 per boat; 20–25 people need 4–5 boats ≈ $92–144pp before any multi-boat discount, plus 20% automatic gratuity. A multi-boat group rate is the thing to negotiate on the call.

📞 Florida Adventure Outfitters, +1 954-850-8989

🎯 7. Sporting Clays Day — South Florida Shooting Club

Palm City · ~1 hr · Daytime · Markham Park (Sunrise) is the closer fallback
~$115–143pp — stretches the $100 budgetMembers-only club — group access needs arranging

"Golf with a shotgun": the group moves around a wooded course of shooting stations, each presenting clay targets a different way — crossing, rising, rolling along the ground. 100 targets across the round, golf carts between stations, an instructor/safety officer with each squad. Competitive scoring makes it a natural group contest, and no experience is needed.

💵 The math (published rate card, dated Jan 2023 — verify): guest fee $65 incl. 100 clays + ~$17.50 cart share + ~$32–44 ammo + $16.44 lunch ≈ $131–143pp with lunch, ~$115–127pp without. Add ~$40pp if gun rentals are needed. Honest note: this prices above the original $100 target once everything's in.

The caveat: The club is members-only — a 20–25 non-member group likely needs a guest-group or sponsored arrangement. That's the first question on the call. Markham Park's public range in Sunrise is the no-membership fallback.

🥽 8. Free-Roam VR — Sandbox VR, The Falls (Miami)

8888 SW 136th St, Miami · ⚠️ 70–80 min drive — beyond the 1-hour target
$55pp per experiencePods of 6 rotateGroup format = custom quote

The most futuristic option: full-body free-roam VR — you physically walk through the game world with your squad (zombie survival in Deadwood Valley, Squid Game Virtuals, Stranger Things). Sessions run in pods of 6, so a group of 20–25 rotates through while everyone else watches the live feed and highlight reels with drinks. Each person gets a personal highlight video after.

💵 The math (published tickets): Weekend tickets from $55pp per experience; two back-to-back experiences ≈ $110pp. Groups over 6 are booked through their Private Events team as a custom event — published package bundles exclude Florida stores, so the group price is a quote.

The trade-off is the drive: The Falls is in south Miami, 70–80 minutes from Boca. The experience is unmatched on this list; the logistics are the worst. A group car service would add cost but remove the driving problem.

🎨 9. Wynwood Graffiti Workshop

Wynwood, Miami · ~55 min · Day or evening
~$42–57pp at public ratesPublic sessions cap at 8 — needs a private buyout

A working street artist teaches real spray technique — can control, fades, drop shadows, lettering — surrounded by the Wynwood murals, and everyone produces their own canvas piece to take home. Easy to run as a best-piece contest judged by the artist.

💵 The math (published public rates): Wynwood Graffiti Experience $42pp; Wynwood Walls spray-paint & stencil class $57pp including Walls admission. A private rate for 20–25 isn't published — expect something in that range per person, confirmed by inquiry.

🧗 10. Indoor Climbing — projectROCK

3580 N Andrews Ave, Oakland Park · ~30 min · Open Sat 10 AM–10 PM
~$30–45pp (estimate)Cheapest option on the pageGroup rate by inquiry

12,000 sq ft of top-rope, lead climbing and bouldering. The social twist: there are no auto-belays — climbers pair up and belay each other, so you're literally holding your buddy's rope. The gym runs team endurance competitions, so a scored team format (most collective feet climbed in 2 hours) is right in their wheelhouse.

💵 The math: Group pricing isn't published. Anchor: a day pass is ~$27.82; budget ~$30–45pp with gear rental and group staffing. The most affordable real activity here by a wide margin — pair it with a good group dinner and the whole night still lands near $100pp.

💎 Route 2 — The $100–200 upgrade route

If the group votes to pay up: bigger rooms, marquee events, and full buyouts. Everything here was checked for Sat Dec 12, 2026.

🏀 11. Heat vs Knicks — Group Tickets, Kaseya Center

Downtown Miami · ~1 hr · Sat Dec 12, 8:30 PM · National TV (ABC)
Resale from ~$165pp · ~$200+ all-inGroup sales start at exactly 20Face-value group rate = one call

The marquee game of the season: the Knicks — defending NBA champions — make their only Miami trip of the year, on a Saturday night, on national TV. Heat group packages come with block seating together and jumbotron recognition for the group. Zero organizing once the tickets exist: show up, drink, yell.

💵 The math: Face-value group pricing is not published anywhere — it takes a call to Heat Group Sales. Resale gives the honest anchor: blocks of seats together start at $165pp (published), and with resale fees that's ~$200–205pp before food and drinks — at the very top of this tier. A face-value group block should come in below resale; whether a block is even released for a game this hot is the call's first question. Suites are out: $7,500–$28,000 per game = $300+/pp.

Food & drink: Arena concessions and lounges, on top of the ticket.

🥩 12. Private Steakhouse Night — New York Prime, Wine Room

2350 Executive Center Dr NW, Boca Raton · ~10 min · Dinner
Menus $109 / $135 / $155pp publishedWine Room seats 25–45 — exact fit

The classic guys' steakhouse, taken private. The Wine Room is a dedicated private space with its own service team, running a coursed prix-fixe: sizzling bacon or shrimp cocktail to start, wedge or Caesar, a 10oz strip / 8oz filet / veal chop / salmon, family-style sides, and NY cheesecake. No driving, no logistics, no weather risk — just a long table and a proper dinner.

💵 The math (published private-dining packet): Menu 1 at $109pp + ~$35pp drinks + 7% tax + 20% gratuity ≈ $183pp all-in. Menu 2 ($135) works food-only at ~$171 (drinks push it over $200); Menu 3 ($155) is ~$197 food-only. So: Menu 1 with drinks, or Menu 2/3 with a controlled bar — that's how it stays in tier.

🪂 13. Indoor Skydiving — iFLY, Davie

11690 W State Rd 84, Davie · ~35–40 min · Event runs ~2.5–3 hrs
2 flights ~$117–122pp publishedPremium format ~$150–190ppSaturday group format to confirm

Everyone flies. A vertical wind tunnel with winds up to 185 mph lifts you off the ground with an instructor at your side — the sensation is a genuine freefall, no plane, no parachute, no jumping. The group watches each flight from the flight deck, which is half the entertainment.

🕐 HOW IT FLOWS

Check-in and gear-up (flight suit, helmet, goggles), a short training class, then rotating flight sessions of ~12 flyers — for 20–25 people you run back-to-back sessions. Each flyer gets two flights of about a minute — it sounds short; it isn't, a minute of freefall is longer than a real skydive's. The premium version adds extra flights, the "high flight" (the instructor spins you up the tunnel), and photo/video.

💵 The math (published retail): The 2-flight first-timer package is $116.63–$121.98pp including taxes, fees and gear. Premium add-ons land ~$150–190pp. Group/corporate rates are quote-only.

Food & drink — the weak spot: No real kitchen. Outside catering and pizza partners are allowed; alcohol needs a licensed outside bartender. Best paired with a late dinner or drinks afterward. Also: flyer restrictions apply (under 300 lbs, no recent neck/back/shoulder injuries), and iFLY's exclusive corporate offerings are listed Mon–Fri — a Saturday group is a retail block or a custom quote.

🎬 14. Private Movie Night — iPic, Mizner Park

301 Plaza Real, Boca Raton · 5–10 min · Night
~$165–215pp (estimate)Easiest logistics on the pageSaturday rentals are the hardest slot

Rent a whole auditorium: plush recliners with pillows and blankets, a film of the group's choice (or a big game on the theater screen, if licensable), and full in-seat dinner and cocktail service — drinks and passed apps as everyone settles, dinner delivered to the recliners during the screening. It's the luxury-lazy option: maximum comfort, minimum effort, five minutes from home.

💵 The math (published components + estimate): Drink packages are priced per person per hour — Classic $25–30, Signature $30–35, Luxe $35–40 (top shelf) — plus a published 22% service charge and tax. Auditorium rental and food packages are quote-based. Estimated for 25 people over 3 hours: ~$185–215pp with Luxe drinks; ~$165–185pp with Signature. This is the most estimate-heavy option here — a call pins it down.

🎰 15. Private Casino Night — Tables + Pro Dealers at Your Venue

Vendor travels to you — clubhouse, rented room, or a home in/near Boca · Night
~$150–200pp all-in (est.)December Saturdays are peak — book early

A Monte Carlo night built for the group: professional dealers run blackjack, poker and roulette with fun money. Everyone gets a chip stack on arrival, dealers teach as they deal, and the night ends with a chip-count leaderboard — bragging rights, plus prizes if you add them. The vendor delivers, sets up, runs the night, and packs out.

🕐 HOW IT FLOWS

Four tables is the right build for 25 (seats for about half the group at once; the rest circulate, eat, drink). Typical run is 3 hours of play. Because the venue is yours, the night starts and ends when you say, and food is whatever you cater — that's also the budget lever.

💵 The math (published rate cards): Tables run from $325/table for 3 hours with a dealer; a realistic build (2 blackjack + 1 poker + 1 roulette) at peak-season rates ≈ $2,480–$3,580 = $99–143pp for the entertainment. Add venue + catered food and drinks at ~$50–80pp → $150–200pp total. Host it in a free clubhouse and it's closer to $130–160pp.

📞 Casino Night of Miami: 305-985-0505 · casinonightofmiami.com — note their site lists roulette/craps as "coming soon," so confirm the table mix and get a written flat quote.

⛳ 16. Topgolf Premium Bays — Pompano Beach

400 Lucky Lane, Pompano Beach · ~25 min · Evening
~$130pp all-in (estimate)4–5 bays · tournament host included

Four to five climate-controlled bays side by side for 3 hours of target games — the scoring is automatic, so non-golfers compete fine. The premium event format adds a dedicated host running a group tournament, buffet stations at the bays (BBQ Pit / Surf 'n Turf / Land & Sea menus), and a hosted bar package.

💵 The math (published event guide): The Champions Buffet at Saturday peak is $72pp including 3 hours of play, buffet and bottomless soft drinks. Add an alcohol package (~$25–35pp, not published) plus tax/service/admin (~28%) ≈ $130pp all-in — mid-tier with headroom for appetizer and dessert add-ons.

📞 Topgolf Pompano Events Team: (754) 310-5020 — groups of 25+ go through the events team, not the online tool.

👨‍🍳 17. Full-Restaurant Buyout — Six Tables, Boca

Mizner Park area, Boca Raton · ~10 min · Single seating, 7:00 PM
$129pp prix fixe published · ~$185–200 all-inRoom maxes at 24 — a full 25 doesn't fit

The chef's-table option: a tiny, acclaimed restaurant that serves one seating a night — and for 20–24 people, the group is the restaurant. Sparkling wine and hors d'oeuvres on arrival, then a slow 2.5–3 hour seasonal prix-fixe where the chefs come out and talk through the food. The most "occasion" dinner on the page.

💵 The math (published): $129/guest including the opening sparkling wine. Add wine with dinner (~$20–30pp), 7% tax and 20% gratuity ≈ $185–200pp — top of the tier, and it earns it.

The catch: The room seats up to 24 maximum. If all 25 commit, this doesn't fit — it's the pick if the headcount lands at 24 or under.

📞 Six Tables: 561-347-6260 — buyout terms, menu and deposit by call.

🍖 18. Pitmaster Cook-Off — Rockoly (comes to you)

A professional pitmaster runs a hands-on grilling workshop-competition: teams work the grills, battle in a best-sauce contest and a grill tag-team, then everybody eats everything. Setup, cleanup, ingredients and insurance are included — it's a catered party where the entertainment is cooking against your friends.

💵 The math (published): "Grill & Chill Classics" from $140pp for 2 hours, all-in — 25 people ≈ $3,500. Inside the premium tier with no venue cost if someone hosts.

📞 Booking via rockoly.com — Dec 12 availability by inquiry.

🐎 19. Private Polo Day — Grand Champions, Wellington

Wellington · ~45–50 min · Daytime
No published pricing — quote onlyMost "only in South Florida" option here

The wildcard. Grand Champions' "Polo On Demand" builds private group days with horses, pros and certified umpires provided — from a group clinic (everyone mounts up, learns mallet work, plays scrimmage chukkers) to a field-side watch party with hospitality. The club has 11 fields and multiple event spaces; the format is custom-built with them.

💵 The math: There isn't any published — rates are by inquiry only, so the $100–200 fit is plausible but unproven. The only published comp: VIP Pavilion tickets at the club's International Cup were $200pp (a different, special event). Note: the National Polo Center's Sunday season doesn't open until Dec 27 — two weeks too late — so a private clinic day is the realistic Dec 12 format.
